Help give a child a home

Hundreds of children face the trauma of being made to live away from their friends, families and schools due to a chronic shortage of foster carers - but you could help change that.

On Friday, 1 December 2017, Runnymede Borough Council is hosting an open day from 11am to 1pm to help give more children a loving home in Surrey.

There are approximately 900 children in care in Surrey and of those fostered 40 per cent are placed outside the county. All because there are currently not enough foster carers.

We simply need more people to come forward to help improve the lives of children in the county.

If you have a spare room and think you can make a difference to a child's life, why not consider fostering?

It is a lot simpler than you'd imagine.

You do not need to be in a relationship or own your home, nor do you need to have had children of your own to be eligible to foster.

To find out more visit the reception area at Runnymede Civic Centre on Friday, 1 December, between 11am and 1pm in Station Road, Addlestone.

A member of the Fostering team will be on hand to answer any questions.
