Your annual business rates are usually payable over 10 monthly instalments from 1 April to 1 January, but you can ask to pay over 12 months if you prefer. The easiest way to pay is by Direct Debit, but you can also pay online. If paying by Direct Debit you have the option to pay on either the 1st, 8th, 15th or 22nd of each month.
You can set up afor your business rates online. If you prefer, you can also call us on 01932 425412 to set up a direct debit. We will give you at least 10 days' notice before we take the first payment.

You can pay using a credit or debit card, 24 hours a day, on 01932 425030 / 425031.
Please make cheques payable to Runnymede Borough Council and write your business rates account number along with your name and address on the back of the cheque.
Cheques should be posted to The Corporate Head of Resources at the Civic Centre.
Please allow additional time for the cheque to clear before the 1st of the month.
Cash, cheques and card payments are accepted at the payment machine in the civic centre.
If your payment is late you will receive a reminder shortly after the due date. A maximum of two reminders will be issued in any financial year, after which you may lose your right to pay by instalments. You would then have to pay the balance owed for the remainder of the year at once.
We will take legal action against those who do not pay business rates.
If we do have to take action a summons will be issued and then we will make an application for a liability order at Staines Magistrates' Court. This will entitle us to instruct enforcement agents to recover the debt and begin insolvency proceedings if necessary. You will be charged for the summons to court, the liability order and the enforcement agent fees.
