The Licensing Act 2003 imposes a statutory duty upon councils to produce, develop and review (at least every five years) their licensing policies.
Runnymede Councils current Statement of Licensing Policy is effective from 7 January 2016 to 6 January 2021.
However it may be updated during this time to take account of new procedures and legislation.
This document sets out the policy that the Licensing Authority will apply when making decisions about applications for:
- The sale of alcohol by retail and wholesale
- The supply of alcohol to members of registered clubs
- The provision of regulated entertainment
- The provision of late night refreshment (hot food and drink) between 11pm and 5am.
It is recommended that all applicants and current premises licence holders/ premises licence holders make themselves familiar with this policy.
Applicants for premises licences should in particular note the contents of part 7 regarding the Licensing Objectives.
