We carry out enforcement with partner agencies such as Transport for London and Surrey Police on a regular basis. We are now planning our next operation, the result will be published here when available.
For those of you who were not at the last forum you will have missed the information given out regarding the arrangements for HC and PH vehicles at the new development in Addlestone. (I have copied notes of the forum below in red for your information).
Runnymede's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy was adopted by the Council on 2 March 2017, this policy is now in force and is valid until 2 March 2020.
We now have an online DBS procedure, please see the guidance for full details.
Driving licence checks are now carried out online. We aim to keep this process as simple as possible.
Under the Equality Act 2010, licensed drivers of taxis and private hire vehicles are under a duty to carry passengers with guide, hearing and other assistance dogs without additional charge.
The law regarding seatbelts can be confusing and there are some exemptions for taxis and private hire vehicles.
These are held three times a year alternating between Chertsey and Egham. Their purpose is to enable better communication between licensing officers and the trade by having a two-way flow of information and ideas. Your attendance is very welcome.
