The Council is required to produce a Strategic Land Availability Assessment (SLAA). The SLAA assesses particular areas of land to determine how far each is suitable, available and viable for development and will be used to help monitor relevant policies contained within the emerging Local Plan.
The council is required to produce a Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) in order to have a good understanding of our housing needs. It will inform our new Local Plan by helping in the identification of how many homes should be provided and of what type.
A report has been prepared that researches the average unit sizes within the borough of Runnymede and the internal space within new dwellings to ascertain whether minimum housing standards should be a requirement.
