It is important to stay healthy and active during the hot weather, particularly for our older more vulnerable residents. That's why we have created a booklet packed with information on how to keep you well this summer. Inside contains tips from Public Health England and the NHS covering heatwaves, health checks, hydration, balanced diets and getting more active.

Free health checks

If you are aged between 40 and 74 with no pre-existing medical conditions, you could have a free NHS Health Check with a health professional.

They will assess you circulatory and vascular systems with a few simple tests. After your appointment, you may be advised to make small lifestyle changes to ensure you stay healthy.

Join in and get moving

We have daily activities in our centres, most are free or have a minimal charge, including:

Tai chi

Line dancing

Armchair exercises

Cash bingo

Cinema club

Indoor golf

Arts and crafts

We also run weekly trips to the Riverbourne health club in Chertsey. Take a dip in the pool or work up a sweat in the gym, for a small fee that covers return transport.
