HRH Prince Philip, 1921-2021
Message from the Mayor of Runnymede and the Leader of Runnymede Borough Council
The Mayor of Runnymede, the Leader, and members of Runnymede Borough Council, share in the sadness of the Royal Family, following the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip.
The Prince was a man of international renown and respect, who played a vital role in the Monarchy, and in the public life of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.
We will also remember with gratitude his role in supporting Her Majesty The Queen as consort through more than 70 years of married life.
His own charitable work and patronages, most notably the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, should be a source of national pride.
Cllr Elaine Gill, Mayor of Runnymede
Cllr Nick Prescot, Leader of the Council
