Councillor Code of Conduct

Councillors and co-opted Members of the Council are required to observe a code of conduct.

The Councillor Code of Conduct is set out in our Constitution.

All Councillors are required by law to complete a declaration of interest form to register their disclosable pecuniary interests as defined by the Localism Act 2011.

These interests include:

  •  Employment, office, trade, profession or vocation;
  •  Sponsorship (including electoral expenses and support from a Trade Union)
  •  Contracts
  •  Land (including property)
  •  Licences
  • Corporate Tenancies
  • Securities

The declaration of interests includes those of a spouse/civil partner/significant other.

In the interests of openness and transparency, this Council also asks Councillors to register their non-pecuniary interests.

Details of the declarations that each Individual Councillor has made in the Register can be found on each Councillor's page.  The register itself is held within Democratic Services and can be inspected if you make an appointment.
