Runnymede 2035 Local Plan (Emerging)

The Local Plan will eventually replace the current 2001 Local Plan as the principal guide to future development in Runnymede up until 2035.

Latest News

The Council has published its latest Duty to Cooperate Update Statement in support of the Additional Sites and Options consultation. This document can be viewed on the The Duty to Co-operate page.

A Sustainability Appraisal (SA) report has been produced in support of the Additional Sites and Options Consultation. This document can be viewed on the Sustainability Appraisal (policy documents and guidance) page.

A Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) report has been produced in support of the Additional Sites and Options Consultation. This document can be viewed on the Habitats Regulations Assessment page.

An Infrastructure Needs Assessment (INA) has now been completed by consultants on behalf of the Council which sets out the level of infrastructure required to support delivery of the Local Plan 2035. The INA can be viewed on the Infrastructure page.

The Council has published its amended Site Selection Methodology and Assessment in support of the Additional Sites and Options consultation. This document can be viewed on the Site Selection and Capacity Work page.

A Centre Hierarchy report and Town and Local Centres Boundaries Review has been produced by officers in the Planning Policy and Strategy team. These can be viewed on the Retail and Town Centre Studies (policy documents and guidance)page.

For the latest news keep an eye on the Local Plan update reports which are reported to every Planning Committee meeting and which provide an update on the progress made with the preparation of the Local Plan. The Local Plan update is reported to committee every three weeks. Committee reports will be available on the Council's website one week before a Committee meeting is held on the Forthcoming Committee - Agendas page and all reports can be found on the Planning Committee - agendas page.

New Local Plan (Emerging)

Runnymede Borough Council is preparing a new Local Plan, to be known as 'Runnymede 2035'. The Local Plan will be the document that sets out the amount of development expected to come forward in the Borough over the next 20 years and where this should be located. This includes the level of housing, employment and retail development, as well as the approach to be taken to the Green Belt. The Local Plan will also allocated specific sites in the Borough for development.
