Together we can help to tackle climate change in our Borough. It's one of the defining issues of our era, but if we all play a part change can happen.
Runnymede is one of many players in the area that are acting now to make a difference. We've already taken significant steps across the buildings we own and through the policies we implement as an elected authority on behalf of residents.
This October we will launch our comprehensive, ambitious and robust Climate Change Strategy which we have been working on for the last year. This strategy will seek to implement a range of solutions to issues impacting our environment including working with residents, private companies and housing developers. We are also supporting the Surrey Climate Change Strategy.
Other key players in or near Runnymede which can make a difference to our climate include Heathrow airport and its airlines, developers, Surrey County Council, our MP Dr Ben Spencer, St Peter's Hospital, bus and train companies, big business, homeowners and motorists, schools, colleges and Royal Holloway University of London. We have engaged with these organisations, especially Heathrow, on behalf of local people, and will continue to do so when necessary.
