Runnymede Borough Council has adopted a Climate Change Action Plan at the February Full Council to support delivery of its Climate Change Strategy.
Energy Company Obligation (ECO) 4 Flex
The ECO4 scheme provides funding for installation of appropriate energy efficiency measures for low-income households most likely to experience fuel poverty.
Runnymede fleet powered by vegetable oil
The Runnymede fleet of almost 80 vehicles is now powered by Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO), a bio-fuel that reduces the fleets emissions by up to 90%.
Council adopts Sustainable Fleet Management Strategy
The vision of the Strategy is to ‘provide an environmentally sustainable operational fleet which delivers safe, reliable services to our communities, and which is affordable to the Council’.
Climate emergency declared at by Full Council
Formally declaring an emergency allows the Council to officially recognise the state of the climate worldwide and that urgent action is needed to reduce humanity’s impact on it.
