  • leisure and recreation - allotments, gardens, libraries, walks and trails
  • specialist contacts - Alzheimer's Society, Age UK, Samaritans and Surrey Disabled People's Partnership
  • social clubs - the Women's Institute plus groups for art, bridge and model railways.

Living and Ageing Well Week 2016

Runnymede's Living and Ageing Well Week 2016 took place on Monday 26 September to Sunday 2 October. Aimed at the over 50s, we hoped the activities on offer would inspire and enable our residents to have fun, be active and try something new.

  • Meals at Home

Runnymede's Meals at Home can take the hassle out of meal time, delivering nutritiously balanced dishes hot and ready to eat to homes across the borough. Meals are delivered to the door or into the home between 11.30am and 2pm each day. Our staff will check on wellbeing when delivering the meal, offering peace of mind and reassurance.

  • Community Alarms

We offer a personal alarm service which, once linked to a telephone line, provides support for those wishing to continue to live independently at home.

  • Social centres for older people

Runnymede Borough Council operates Eileen Tozer in Addlestone, Manor Farm in Egham and the Woodham and New Haw centre for older people to meet up. They all have lively, friendly atmospheres and offer support, guidance and advice as well as the chance to meet people.

  • Community Transport

Any older person or anyone with a disability whatever their age can be provided with transport to all locations within Runnymede and certain destinations beyond the borough boundary.

  • Wellbeing Centre to support people with dementia and memory concerns

A centre where people can go to get help if they are in the early stages of dementia or have concerns about their memory.

  • Safer driving with age (SAGE)

Safer driving with age (SAGE) is designed to provide older drivers with support and guidance to allow them to continue driving for as long as it is safe to do so.

  • Carers' support and services

We support carers with day to day living and transport and can advise on other services that are available locally.
