What type of information do we collect?
When you interact with us, we often need to collect your personal data to deal with an enquiry or provide you with a service. We only collect information that is necessary for that service or enquiry for example, your name, address, and other information that could identify you. In some circumstances we require personal data of a sensitive nature which is often information that is not widely known and is very personal to you, such as the state of your health. This is known as special category data and the law imposes additional requirements on how this information can be used.
In some cases, you will be obliged to provide us with your information for example, where the Council exercises its enforcement functions. Where this obligation does not exist failure to provide some voluntary data may mean certain support services cannot be delivered.
Please note that we record incoming and outgoing calls to and from our contact centre, housing department and out of hours teams.
Please see the Departmental Privacy Notices for a comprehensive record of the type of data each service collects and why.
We always look for ways to improve our website. Share your feedback on how we can improve the information or structure of this web page.
