Court summons
If you do not pay the full amount demanded, we will apply to the local Magistrates' Court for a summons to be issued against you. This will incur £70.00 in costs which will be added to your bill.
The summons is a demand for you to pay the full amount you owe. It will tell you the date of the court hearing and the amount of unpaid Council Tax, plus the additional costs.
There is no need to attend court but you must contact the recovery team to make an arrangement for payment.
If a special arrangement is agreed, provided you keep to the payment arrangement no further recovery action will be taken.
If you pay the full amount of the summons, including costs, before the hearing date, the case against you will be withdrawn.
