About Design Code

It has recently become a requirement for Local Planning Authorities to prepare design codes in which they set out design requirements for their area. 

Runnymede Borough Council is preparing an authority-wide design code which will replace the Runnymede Design SPD (2021) to positively shape future development in the Borough. To be a success, the design code will need to reflect local character and design preferences, providing a framework for creating high-quality design in the Borough.

This website will provide updates on the design code work and give you an opportunity to submit your ideas and feedback at key stages of the project.
