Runnymede Borough Council is following a new best-practice approach which puts the community first, and has established a Community Design Panel for this project.
Around 40 panel members have been selected to the panel, which is representative of the different communities and settlement areas which make up the borough. The early research stage is underway, and engagement activities will be taking place this Autumn to learn all about the Borough and its places.
The Panel’s priorities for well-designed future development will be central to this process, and the Panel will be asked to attend two workshops, with the first in-person workshop taking place on the afternoon of Saturday 12 October 2024. This will include a walking tour of the local area and other hands-on exercises and group discussions.
In addition to participating in the Panel, there will be other opportunities to get involved – we’ll be running surveys, and organising other events, such as stakeholder and local community group focus group sessions.
