The Local Authority (Referendums) (Petitions) (England) Regulations 2011
Publication of Verification Number
The Proper Officer must publish the number of signatures needed on a petition for a referendum to take place on whether the Local Authority should change to a different form of governance.
In accordance with Regulation 4(1) of the above regulations, that number is equal to 5% of the number of local government electors shown in the revised register of electors having effect on the 15 February 2025 and is: 3069
This figure will have effect for the purposes of determining the validity of Petitions presented in accordance with the 2011 Regulations from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
