The Housing Sustainment Team will provide a package of support based upon your individual needs. Exampled of the support we can provide include the following:
- Give you basic budgeting advice and money management tips to ensure rent and bills are paid on time
- Advise you on how to reduce any rent arrears
- Looking at ways to maximise your income and ensure you are in receipt of all the benefits you are entitled to
- Support you to save for rent in advance for future tenancies and removal costs
- Assist you with filling in forms for benefits/housing
- Apply for grants/funding to help you in a crisis
- Help you find furniture or essential white goods
- Advise you on accessing education, work, training, and volunteering opportunities
- Support you to build on developing essential life skills, such as literacy, IT skills, and cooking courses
- Help you to access services in the local community
- Make referrals on your behalf to other agencies for more in-depth/specialist advice
We may ask you to provide us with various pieces of information, such as proof of income, bank statements and details of any debts you may have outstanding. This will help us to get an overview of your situation and enable us to give you the correct advice and support, or signpost to the relevant agencies.
