Damp and mould can be caused by
- lack of adequate heating or ventilation
- leaks or water seeping in from outside
- rising damp coming into the house from the ground
- high level of moisture being produced in the house, for example from clothes drying
Opening windows is important to help increase ventilation and allow moisture to escape. Try the following measures to help prevent damp, condensation and mould
- Maintain healthy humidity levels
- Keep indoor plants
- Not dry clothes indoors
- Use exhaust fans
- Wipe down condensation and areas when they become wet
- Use mould prevention products
- Look out and report signs of damp, condensation and mould
