Apply for a garage
For tenants and non-tenants the charge to rent a garage is £16.80 (£17.20 from April 2024) per week.
Your garage can only be used for a vehicle and must not be used to store household or garden items.
If you apply to rent a garage we will make an offer if there is a garage available or add your name to a waiting list if there are no vacancies.
You will need to provide us with
- photo ID
- proof of your national insurance number
- a completed direct debit form
- pay the first month's rent in advance
before we give you the keys.
If you owe any outstanding housing debts to Runnymede Borough Council, or have a poor payment history if you have let a garage from us before, we will not accept your application for a garage.
Please read our Garage Conditions of Licence for full details of how you can use your garage.
Signing up for your garage licence
If you decide to accept the offer of a vacant garage you will need to attend the Civic Centre in person to sign a licence agreement. You will need to pay your rent 4.5 weeks in advance and set up a direct debit for ongoing payments. If you fail to maintain payment by direct debit the licence provisions allow us to end the agreement by giving the licensee seven days' notice.
