The General Election in numbers

The Council has released data showing the number of people who brought ID to the polling station for local elections on 4 July.

The data shows that 99.9% of electors voting in Runnymede Borough polling stations brought photo ID that met the voter ID requirements. Thank you to everyone who brought their ID, as it enabled our Polling Station staff to run the elections efficiently.

Collated figures across the area show 48,409 electors voted at our 51 polling stations on 4 July.

At the end of polling day, 28 electors who tried to vote in a polling station were not given a ballot paper because they did not meet the new voter ID requirements – 0.06%.

The figures also show while 88 electors were initially turned away, 60 returned with acceptable ID and were able to vote. This means 68% of those initially turned away returned and were issued with a ballot paper.
