Christmas is arriving in Runnymede with trees being put up and celebrations taking place across the borough.
Addlestone
The Council will be bringing the most glamourous tree yet to the town centre with the grand switch on of a 16ft tall artificial tree taking place at 4.15pm on Saturday 30 November. The Mayor of Runnymede, Cllr Elaine Gill, will be leading the countdown during the town’s Winter Market event.
During the day there will be a craft market at the Addlestone Centre in Garfield Road and a food market outside the Civic Centre in Station Road.
The tree will be next to KickX and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the entertainment from 11am onwards.
Egham
For the first time, a tree will be erected in Egham town centre, at Magna Square, which will be lit up 5.30pm on Friday 6 December by the Mayor.
The Council has organised this artificial tree, working with local councillors and Egham Resident Association.
Egham Town Band will be performing shortly before and after the switching-on of the lights and presents will be given out to children who visit, thanks to funding from local business Groundworks95. Liberto Lounge will also be providing mince pies, so grab them before they go!
Other events which the Council is aware of or providing technical support to include:

Outside The Lodge, St. Jude’s Close.
Lights switch on at 4.30pm on 30 November.
