Citizens' Engagement Panel: Make your voice heard

Runnymede Borough Council is excited to launch a pilot for a new Citizens' Engagement Panel.

A man shouting into a megaphone

So, if you live in the borough and want to share your thoughts and opinions, this is your chance to be heard!

The Citizens’ Engagement Panel will support our ongoing Empowering Communities Strategy. This is our commitment to understand what really matters to you, the residents of Runnymede.

This initiative aims to give residents a voice in matters that will inform the Council’s understanding on public priorities - particularly the Council’s policies, strategies and services which impact the whole community, and how we can best make real positive difference to the quality of life of all our residents.

The pilot programme will run for 12 months, during which people who sign up and join the panel will be invited to participate in two consultations. These will take place through interactive surveys, available online or on paper. It won’t be a huge commitment, and you only need to spare as much time and energy as you are able to give.

Commenting on the launch of the panel, the Co-Leaders of the Council said: “The Citizens’ Engagement Panel is an important way forward for Runnymede Borough Council in its relationship with its residents. It is essential, now more than ever, that we fully understand the priorities expressed by our communities.

“We have to make sure their changing needs and requirements are at the heart of what we do, thereby nurturing and enhancing community involvement in our community. The success of the decisions we make on behalf of our residents will largely depend on how well we can hear what they need.”

If you would like to get involved and be part of something that shapes Council matters where you live, register to join the panel.
