Cllr Tom Gracey, Leader of Runnymede Borough Council, said:
It’s incredibly exciting to see Magna Square fully open to residents just in time for the school holidays. This is a huge milestone for the Council, and I hope that local people and families enjoy the free activities on offer, getting a taste for the hub that has been created.
The new square is the perfect place to relax and meet with friends and clearly demonstrates the success of the Council’s regeneration strategy. We’ve already welcomed popular neighbourhood bar Liberto Lounge to the site, along with Budgens, with both open seven days a week.
Everyman Cinema is also set to open its doors in time for autumn, with several other major retailers planning to take space at Magna Square. Magna Square will provide a boost to the local area, providing first class amenities for residents and visitors alike.
Cllr Gracey added:
Magna Square also brings us closer to the Council’s climate commitment, with the development featuring several eco-friendly credentials such as, solar-controlled glazing, low energy lighting and highly efficient thermal insulation.
Those who visit the site can also take part in a Make & Take workshop where you can try your hand a decorating a flowerpot, which you can also take with you. Flower seeds will also be handed out to encourage residents to grow their own at home.
The development also features 67 stylish super studio, one and two bedroom apartments, which are available to rent and to buy. Many of the properties are also available under the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, helping first time buyers get their foot onto the property ladder locally.
Viewings will be held across the day and the team are encouraging renters and buyers to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Simply email: enquiries@magnasquare.co.uk
