Holding events in our parks

The Council's Direct Services Organisation are frequently asked to support a wide range of events across the Borough including sporting events, charity fund raisers, agricultural shows, and fêtes. The support requested includes services such as additional grass cutting, ground works to provide locations for car parking, tree works, general site clearance and provision and collection of litter bins.

To ensure fairness and transparency for Councillors, event organisers and local residents, cost recovery fees that recover the cost of providing these services were introduced from 1 April 2023.

The continued success of all community events is priority for Runnymede Borough Council and where the introduction of fees would impact on an event’s viability the organisers can apply for grant aid which will normally be agreed where the objectives of the event are in accord with the Corporate Business Plan.

Fees are subject to annual review from 1 April. Services provided on or after this date will be charged at the prevailing rate – an estimate can be provided upon request.

Hire of RBC refuse and recycling bins

Sizes of bins available for hire:

• 180 litres
• 360 litres
• 660 litres
• 1100 litres

• Rental cost including delivery and collection
• Waste collection and disposal 
• Additional collection/disposal during the event 
• Contamination costs due to non-recyclable waste in recycling bins 

Grounds Maintenance

Please contact openspace@runnmyede.gov.uk for more information about fees for:

• Provision of Grass Cutting Team (additional to normal scheduled visits)
• Provision of Tree Works Team (additional to normal scheduled visits)
  • Fees for contracted works
    Some specialist operations may require the services of an external contractor. These will be charged at cost to the event organiser.

Please note that requested works already completed will be charged for, even in circumstances whereby the event organiser has decided to cancel or postpone the event.
