The Runnymede Community Planning Panel

Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how the Council intends to involve and engage with the local community and stakeholders in the preparation of all planning policy documents (including the Local Plan) and during the Development Management process (e.g. during the consideration of planning applications).

The document sets out the minimum level of consultation that will be undertaken by the Council in each case, as well as the range of additional consultation/engagement techniques which can be/are already utilised by the Council.

At Full Council on the 4 March 2021 the Council formally adopted the Statement of Community Involvement.

The 2021 Statement of Community Involvement was subject to further consultation on a number of minor amendments between Wednesday 4 January and Wednesday 14 February 2024. This consultation was focussed on the Council’s proposal to amend the digital format of representations which it would accept in response to planning consultations from email to standardised web form. Following the conclusion of the consultation, the decision was made by the Council’s Planning Committee on Wednesday 28th February to adopt the proposed changes. The revised document can be found below, alongside a Version Control document which summarises the amendments made:
