Mental health and housing protocol
The Mental Health and Housing Protocol has been updated. This Protocol will be used when supporting individuals in Surrey who have mental health and housing needs. It is a guidance document that provides clear step-by-step guidance for various complex situations that involve mental health and housing. The goal is to spot problems early and stop people from becoming homeless. By helping people stay in a safe home, it also makes their lives more stable and improves their well-being.
It has been updated by mental health teams, hospitals, social care, and housing managers in Surrey and is primarily designed for frontline staff working with individuals who face both mental health challenges and housing instability. This includes housing officers, social workers, mental health professionals, healthcare staff, and emergency department personnel across Surrey.
