There are resources available for veterans and their family members seeking government and community support, from healthcare and housing to employability, finances, personal relationships and more. Telephone 0808 802 1212 or text on 81212. You can also visit the following websites:

  • A searchable directory listing government and charity support for veterans and their families, allowing veterans to find help in their local area
  • Online support guides to help veterans find information by need, including on housing, employment, health, compensation, bereavement, care needs and more

SSAFA - the Armed Forces charity, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, is a UK charity that provides lifelong support to serving men and women and veterans from the British Armed Forces and their families or dependents. Anyone who is currently serving or has ever served in the Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force and their families, both regulars and reserves, is eligible for their help. Free app to support our armed forces community

Forces Connect is a free mobile app that signposts veterans, armed forces personnel, reservists and their families to support and advice in their local area.

The Forces Connect app is designed to link users to organisations offering help and support across a wide range of services.

The app is newly sponsored by The Shots Foundation (charity arm of Aldershot Town Football Club) who work with community groups and others to make a difference to local areas.
