Tenant satisfaction measures

Further to the Government’s Charter for Social Housing Residents: Social Housing White Paper (2020) The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has consulted on proposals for Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs).

The TSMs are designed to provide data about landlords’ performance and the quality of their services. TSMs are intended to help tenants evaluate how their landlord is performing and hold them to account.

Registered Provider landlords, including local councils, will have to demonstrate to the Regulator that the voices of their tenants are being heard and acted on.

The proposed TSMs include information measures such as health and safety compliance and tenant perception measures, to be collected through landlords’ surveys of tenants.

Another way of collecting opinions is by asking tenants about their experience of a specific service they have received, for example the repairs satisfaction survey.

The Council plans to ask tenants for their views on the services we provide by carrying out a Survey of Tenants and Residents (STAR) of all our tenants and leaseholders.
