  1. A basic fee of £1,000 is required for the grant/renewal of a Street Trading consent together with an additional £230 per day of the week trading per year. Therefore the annual fees for trading are as follows:-

                                                      Total

        Trading for 1 day a week     £1,000 + £230    =     £1,230
        Trading for 2 days a week    £1,000 + £460    =     £1,460
        Trading for 3 days a week    £1,000 + £690    =     £1,690
        Trading for 4 days a week    £1,000 + £920    =     £1,920
        Trading for 5 days a week    £1,000 + £1,150  =     £2,150
        Trading for 6 days a week    £1,000 + £1,380  =     £2,380
        Trading for 7 days a week    £1,000 + £1,610  =     £2,610

Payment is only due should the Council’s Environment and Sustainability Committee accept your street trading application.

You must pay the whole fee before engaging in Street Trading.

  2. Before commencing trading you will be required to provide proof that you hold a minimum of £5m public liability insurance.  This cover must be maintained throughout the period you are licensed to trade.
  3. Any person who engages in Street Trading in a prohibited street may be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1,000. It is similarly an offence to trade in a consent street without being authorised to do so.
  4. Street traders involved in the sale of food are also required to provide proof of registration with a local authority under the Food Premises (Registration) Regulations 1991. Further details can be obtained from  the Council's Environmental Protection team on 01932 - 838383 ext 5734.

  6. Making a deliberately false statement in connection with any application is an offence, punishable on summary conviction by a fine of up to £1,000.
  7. Applications are considered by the Council’s Environment & Sustainability Committee, which meets five times per year.
