Moving to another property
If you are moving to another property
- If you are moving from one council property to another, the procedure for ending your tenancy is slightly different. You will need to complete an Internal Transfers form. This is an agreement between you and us on the date that you will leave your old property by.
- If you are moving to a Housing Association property, you should complete a Termination of Tenancy Form and send it to us as soon as possible. On this form tell us the date you will be moving out.
In both cases you must leave the property by 12pm (midday) on the agreed date, otherwise we may change the locks and then re-charge you.
We would normally expect your old tenancy to be terminated within one week of your new tenancy starting. You will continue to be charged rent on your old property, in addition to your new property, until the termination date.
