Climate change communications plan

The Council’s first Climate Change Communications Plan was approved at Corporate Management Committee on 21 March 2024, and aims to encourage positive behavioural changes amongst the boroughs populations related to climate change and sustainability. The focus topics for the 2024/25 financial year will be anti-idling and food waste to be delivered to and with a range of stakeholder groups.

Climate change and sustainability grants

We have launched a webpage dedicated to highlighting climate change and sustainability grants for organisations and individuals. This brings together funding opportunities available from the local to national level in support of a wide range of actions which could require grant funding. See the latest opportunities on our climate change and sustainability grants page.

Great Big Green Week

For the last 2 years, Runnymede Borough Council has been involved in Great Big Green Week. Great Big Green Week is a national initiative which celebrates community action to act on climate change and protect the environment. Each year, the Council seeks to join forces with its communities to raise awareness of climate change and encourage further action.

To see a full schedule of events planned for 2024 and find out how to organise your own event, visit our Great Big Green Week pages. To find out more about what we did in 2023, see the Corporate Management Committee report from September 2023 on Great Big Green Week and the programme of events that were organised.
