Work experience options
There are multiple ways you can take advantage of a work experience placement at the Council with us offering a variety of placement options including:
Option 1: Specified service area
Specify one service area on your application for your whole placement to be based for the entirety of your placement, where you will gain greater insight into what skills you require for a career in this area of expertise.
Option 2: Council wide experience
You will be assigned to a variety of service areas over the course of your placement, where you will gain a general overview of working in the public sector. Remember to specify if you have particular areas of interest on your application.
Option 3: Skills based experience
If you are unsure what service area to choose but know what skills you'd like to learn please specify this on your application. The Council will do their best to provide a tailored placement to suit your skill requirements and support needs. This placement will enable you to learn new skills to put on your CV and to boost your confidence in the work environment. We have partnered with Surrey Choices who are able to provide support for SEND applicants.
