Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA)
The Habitat Regulations state that all Local Plans must be subject to a HRA. The Council uses a Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) to identify which parts of our Local Plan could potentially effect:
- Special Areas of Conservation (SACs)
- Special Protection Areas (SPAs)
- Ramsar sites
- Natura 2000 sites
HRA also identifies appropriate strategies for avoiding or mitigating these effects.
An initial HRA was produced in May 2016 to support the Local Plan 2035 Issues, Options and Preferred Approaches Document, but this was updated in 2017 and again in 2018 to assess various changes made to the draft Plan. The latest version of the HRA documents can be downloaded below. The 2019 HRA Addendum supports the Main Modifications made to our Submission Local Plan after it was examined, and is also available to download below.
